Business Academy Aarhus has received 486 more applications than last year and 10 percent more 1st priority applications

A total of 4,729 potential students applied to Business Academy Aarhus’ 22 (Danish) programmes.

That's 486 more applications than last year and 10 percent more 1st priority applications.

‘Again this year, we can report that many of our programmes are filled up,’ says Rector Anne Storm Rasmussen.

The only AP English language programme, Multimedia Design, received an overwhelming 300 applications.

IT programmes in high demand

More people than last year have applied for programmes such as IT architect, computer scientist and IT technologist (only available in Danish).

‘On our business-orientated IT programmes, which have great job opportunities, this is a record year with 22 per cent more applications overall. It is particularly gratifying that many have also applied to our natural science programmes, such as chemical and biotechnical analysis,’ adds Anne Storm Rasmussen.

The Academy’s most popular programmes are still Marketing Management (only in Danish) with 727 applications, and Financial Management (only in Danish) with 685 applications.

From Legislation to Bits and Bytes

22-year-old Sara Statoua has applied to the computer science programme together with 306 others.

After a year and a half studying law, Sara Statoua realised that she wanted something different.

Now Sara wants to replace law books with programming.

‘I want to get away from the academic side and work with my hands,’ says Sara, who wants to become a cybersecurity specialist.

‘Since January, I've read a lot about IT security and watched videos about programming and think it's a type of art and a creative subject. I plan to specialise in IT security.’

Applicants will receive an answer on 26 July

All the thousands of applicants will find out whether they have been accepted into their dream degree programme on Friday, 26 July.

Any available study places will also be published on 26 July.

In August, about 2,400 new students will be admitted.
